Edward Bulmer is one of the leading interior designers and architectural historians in Britain, specializing in the restoration and decoration of historic buildings. His passion for period buildings was acquired as a child growing up in a Georgian rectory in Herefordshire, painstakingly restored by his father. Today he lives with his wife and daughters in an 18th century Queen Anne home located in Herefordshire. “I love the fact that the house is a country estate in miniature, with the look of a much more grown-up establishment,” Edward told House & Garden. Over the centuries, the house had undergone unfortunate alterations and was in a state of neglect. Edward took a respectful approach to renovation and decorating the home to suit his family. “My approach to decorating my own home is that it is our life story as a family and everything in the house should, and I hope does, reflect that,” he said. Let’s take a tour with images from House & Garden…
Today this beautiful estate also serves as headquarters for Edward Bulmer Natural Paint. Please visit House & Garden for additional information. Love the kitchen! And that chinoiserie bedroom is wonderful. The bed is extraordinary.
Gorgeous home, but I’m in love with Bulmer’s fluffy dog — what kind is it?
