Earlier this week, I wrote about Tinsley Mortimer’s sophisticated and elegant New York City apartments. I could spend hours pouring over each and every image. One in particular is this jewel box of dining room in her former Upper East Side apartment.

I find hand-painted Chinese wallpapers, such as Gracie, de Gournay and Griffin & Wong to be like jewelry for your walls. Very expensive jewelry…. While it would be impossible for me to narrow down what color of this luxurious paper is my favorite (read here about my obsession with pink de Gournay) I think my vote would lean towards blue, particularly for the dining room. But ask me again tomorrow, and I will probably change my mind. The dining room in my dream home (click here) featuring yellow de Gournay wallpaper and Clarence House tiger velvet upholstered chairs is one of the most breath-taking dining rooms I have ever seen. Check it out!But today, let’s take a look at some stunning blue dining rooms, swathed in stunning de Gournay and Gracie wallpaper.

The next four images feature a cream background, but I love the overall blue theme.

And lastly, how stunning is this navy and gold two-tone de Gournay? I would love to see this in a dining room… I could see Mary McDonald doing something beyond fabulous with it, as only Mary can do.
What color would you choose?

Absolutely breathtaking. I don't know how anyone chooses. Maybe someday!!
I'm using a Gracie paper as inspiration in a "solarium" for a client right now. I cannot wait to see how it turns out … looking forward to using the real thing someday!! xo
Griffin and Wong have a new design out recently that is crackling with vintage Hollywood Regency movie set feel. It is a mix of Douglas Fairbanks and Georges Melies.

We chose the silver leaf background with Neutrals and we are so happy with it! http://www.traditionalhome.com/design/beautiful-homes/elegant-makeover-dallas-home?page=4
