Over the weekend, I stumbled upon a historic New Orleans home with interiors by the legendary English designer Nicky Haslam that was featured in a 2000 issue of House & Garden. I started poking around Haslam’s website, and I also fell in love with a Notting Hill Villa he designed. So today, we will tour both homes along with several of my favorite miscellaneous images from his portfolio.
Lastly, we will take a quick peek inside Haslam’s renowned Hunting Lodge. Located 40 miles from London in Hampshire, the Hunting Lodge was built in the 16th century for King Henry VII. John Fowler purchased the Lodge in the 1940s, bringing it back to life after the deprivations of war. Upon his death in 1977, Fowler left the Lodge to the National Trust, and Haslam has leased it since 1978.

These photos are decorative dessert. My style ,if I owned a hunting lodge. His use of fabric is sublime and nothing is left untouched. I love his court yard. I am going to read up more in this very talented Mr Haslam.

BEAUTIFUL! This is decorating!!!
WOW! Just fabulous! All of it! So charming!
Haslam at his zenith. Extraordinarily creative, unique and beautiful. No one can touch him.
It’s so lovely to see chintz used with abandonment! Today’s “fresh” interiors with little fabric and often no curtains, appear cold and naked to me.
I’m a huge fan of Nicky Haslam and cannot get enough of his quintessentially English style. Thank you for all this deliciousness !!

Love it all. To beautiful for words.
Just in time. I am pondering as I plan a redecorating adventure in my home. This was perfect inspiration. Fabric, color, creativity, warmth. Thank you!
Great post!
After reading his biography, one can conclude that he’s always been very social- and has had
a fascinating, fabulous life-
One of the things I love about his work is his sophisticated palette and use of shades of heather and lavender, even purple!
Some time ago i read the autobiography of this most interesting person ( and bon vivant) . A fixture in the social scene in London
Andrea, “Thank You!” for presenting this to us so beautifully. My favorite room is the lovely breakfast room…just delightful.
