In a beautiful Greenwich, Connecticut home, designer Miles Redd recently created an enchanted office space featuring gridded botanical wallpaper by Iksel. The exquisite wallpaper re-creates 16th-century Renaissance herbariums on faux parchment. This look can also be created by clipping the pages from botanical books!

For the 2019 Southern Living Showhouse, designer Becky Nielson wanted to bring the garden indoors and make the butler’s pantry feel like a potting station. She hand cut botanicals from her favorite botanical book, Redouté: Selection of the Most Beautiful Flowers (French Edition) and applied them to the walls. You can see a video here!

She pulled out her botanical books again to create a dreamy “topiary room” for clients in Beverly Hills…

Bethany Berk, interior and garden designer and founder of Marchioness Home & Garden, selected pages from Pierre-Joseph Redouté’s Roses to paper her powder room…. the result is a beautiful antique rose garden that is always in bloom and never needs watering!
Pierre-Joseph Redouté was an official court artist of Marie Antoinette. He was a painter and botanist from Belgium, known for his watercolors of roses, lilies and other flowers at Malmaison, many of which were published as large, color stipple engravings. He was nicknamed “the Raphael of flowers” and has been called the greatest botanical illustrator of all time.
Such a brilliant idea and lovely inspiration for creating never-ending springtime in your home! Happy paper planting! 🙂

This is so lovely! I have been obsessed lately with the large country florals and can’t decide which to put up. Wallpaper is such a commitment but makes such a statement. I love this DIY idea!
Great ideas here. Thank you!
I woke up not knowing I had an urgent need for a copy of Redoute’s Roses – it’s now on the way from Amazon – thank you for inspiration!
That’s a brilliant idea! I love the effects.
Has anyone posted how they do this? Is it just wallpaper paste on the backs of the pages?
