House Beautiful’s May cover story, featuring the Pacific Palisades home of designer Krista Ewart, has me positively swooning. This charming California family home was designed with kids and commotion in mind, but you’d never guess by the look of it.
I love the way Krista combines whimsey and charm to all of her designs. Growing up in her mother’s consignment store, she spent many weekends at flea markets and developed a thrill of the hunt. Combining her background in fashion design with the interior design skills she honed while working with Ruthie Sommers, Krista expertly mixes classic proportions with playful prints and color. Let’s take a look inside her fabulous home!
I could move right on in to this beautiful home, please! To see the full feature and to read an interview with the designer, Krista Ewart, including her best kid-friendly decorating tips, click here. And make sure to pick up the May 2015 issue of House Beautiful, available on newsstands now.

Delightful! What a relief to see a home that hasn't been greiged to death.
Love everything in this home!!!!
Can you tell me where the beautiful tufted chairs in the living room came from? Absolutely love them!
