There is something magically enchanting about a beautiful yet whimsical pool pavilion. And what could be better this time of year? My all-time favorite pool house belongs to Shelley Johnstone in Lake Forest, Illinois. Shelley’s vision was inspired by the follies of Newport and the pagoda-shaped pool houses of Palm Beach, and she also created the design to complement the style of the main house.
While we do not have a pool at our Dallas home, we also did not have any covered outdoor space. We have a tiny backyard, yet we love entertaining outdoors, so I had to get creative. We tore down the obstructive and unsightly breezeway connecting the garage to the mud room, and are replacing it with a garden pavilion, largely inspired by Shelley’s chic pool house. I cannot wait for it to be complete! Today I will share some of the prettiest inspirational images I have collected via Pinterest over the years…
